Since 2024 there has been a free play-along orchestra of a special kind in Swiss cities.
The principle is simple: spend an evening playing gems of the symphonic repertoire under professional direction, deepen your repertoire knowledge and orchestral skills, meet passionately musical people and make new friends.
No pressure to perform, no age limit, purely for the joy of the music.
The offer is aimed at enthusiastic amateurs, music students and professionals. Registration is per date and per session, because the Repertoire Orchestra forms anew every time and everywhere.

History
Joseph Sieber first realised the format in autumn 2021 at the Royal Northern College of Music with musician friends, and it has been developed further ever since. The aim is the most uncomplicated version of a socially and musically valuable play-along orchestra, with a uniquely broad spectrum of orchestral musicians of every age.
Since 2024 the Repertoire Orchestra has also been running in the large German-speaking Swiss cities of Zurich, Bern, Basel and Lucerne – further offshoots, abroad as well, are being planned. More than 200 musicians between the ages of 14 and 84 from all over the country have already played.

The Repertoire Orchestra was founded and launched in 2024 by the Simple Symphony initiative. It has since grown into a community across German-speaking Switzerland – which is why dates and registrations are run separately at www.repertoireorchestra.org.
